Nutritious Meals And Healthy Eating

For details on costs and funding, see our Payments, Fees and Grants page.

Values And Social Development
Children are guided in understanding democracy, mutual respect, tolerance, individual liberty, and the rule of law. Group activities encourage sharing, cooperation, and decision-making, helping children build confidence, self-awareness, and social skills. This focus ensures children learn to value themselves and others in a safe, inclusive environment. Teachers reinforce these values through everyday interactions, helping children make thoughtful choices. Activities also encourage empathy and understanding of diverse perspectives among peers.
Learning, Play, And Growth
Structured activities, creative arts, outdoor play, and free exploration support holistic development in line with the EYFS curriculum. Each child is encouraged to develop at their own pace while building essential skills for school and life. Our approach combines fun and education, ensuring children enjoy every stage of their early years journey. Children are encouraged to ask questions and explore ideas independently, boosting critical thinking skills. Play-based learning is integrated with structured lessons to strengthen both academic and social development.
Changes to funding for those with funded hours effective from 1 January 2026
Due to the new Department for Education rules that are being introduced in January 2026, the nursery has to change the way we invoice and how the Early Years Grant is applied to your fees. This does not affect those who do not use funded hours.
The following will outline the changes to how the nursery stretches funding, the introduction of a charge for meals for those using funded hours and the new fee schedule with information on how it has been calculated.
Currently, all funding received by the nursery from the Local Authority has been deducted from your fees in full each month. While the nursery has never referred to it as such, you may have heard this way of invoicing referred to as a type of ‘wrap around fee/childcare’.
From January 1st 2026 this is no longer allowed. Invoicing will only reflect the hours you receive (both funded and non-funded) with no relation to the funding amount received by the nursery from the Local Authority.
The funded hours are currently split over 48 weeks of the year, meaning that there is no coverage for funded hours during the month of August when parents must pay full fees. In order to spread the funded hours more evenly throughout the year, from 1st January, the funded hours will be split over the 51 weeks of the year we are open. This will result in more consistent invoicing throughout the year and mean funding also covers the month of August. Below is the calculation to show how many hours a week this amounts to.
